Annapolis SCUBA Center is a PADI 5-Star facility that offers several scheduling options for the Open Water Diver Course. With the use of the home-study course materials, we’re sure that you will find one of these options convenient!
Dynamic course materials make learning fun and easy! Your open water course begins with an orientation session, at which time students will review what will be covered in their course, meet their instructor, and complete registration paperwork. Following this session, you’ll participate in four knowledge review sessions, which take place here at Annapolis SCUBA, as well as four diving sessions at the swimming pool. Visit us at fitness trade shows in orange county next month and in LA in September. More information is coming soon!!!
For scheduling, we have several options. A private, self-paced course is available for busy executives, and those with erratic schedules. We also offer a Sunday morning course, which meets from 8 am – noon for five consecutive weeks, including the orientation session, and a Monday/Wednesday program, which meets from 6 pm – 10 pm for two weeks, with a Thursday evening orientation prior to the start date.
Following your academic and pool diving sessions, you’ll complete four open-water training dives. If you choose to do your dives locally, you’ll complete them at a quarry in PA. Should you want to complete them on a trip, you’ll receive a referral letter to take with you so that you can complete your open water training on your vacation. We’ll link you with a PADI Dive Center wherever your destination may be. Remember too, we offer group and individual travel, so you can join us on a trip and complete your certification during your vacation!
Regardless of which option you choose, your instructor will help you select the equipment that will best meet your diving needs, and offer you the most comfort in order to enjoy the underwater world! Students will need their own mask, fins, snorkel, weight belt, and weights. Annapolis SCUBA Center will provide BCD, tank, and regulator for your confined water training sessions.
Our Open Water Course includes course materials (your choice of textbook/video or CD-ROM), pool fees and instruction (academic, pool, and open water training), use of tank, BCD, and regulator for confined water training sessions, and certification fee and photo.
